My rubber shock bands on my microphone are squeaking causing a noise in the recording? What can I do?

It has been found that after some use in certain dry environments the rubber in the bands of the videmic can dry out and start to squeak when rubbing on the plastic of the suspension mount. This noise is most apparent when moving the camera and microphone whilst recording.

 

The best option is to rub a little oil on the bands, lubricating them and minimising the contact adhesion they have with the mount. If this does not help replacement bands are available to order from your local distributor, Please use our technical support page to find your nearest distributor.
