My XLR cable is really tight, can this connection be made looser?

To ensure a quality, captive connection to most styles of XLR cable connectors, all RØDE Microphones are supplied with a blue rubber padding ring inside the XLR output socket. This blue ring can simply be removed if your XLR cable connector has trouble fitting in to the socket.
