These products are inferior in both build quality and performance, and are usually easy to spot on site. However the anonymity of online shopping has added to the risk of unknowingly purchasing counterfeit products in almost any retail sector, so it is important that consumers take all possible precautions.

Please note that RØDE does not make microphones for any other company, nor does it permit sale of its microphones under any other brand or badge.

How do you protect yourself from counterfeits?

While RØDE does actively persue infringements of its intellectual property it is in the best interest of the buyer to ensure that they know what to look for when choosing to purchase a RØDE microphone.

The best way to ensure your RØDE product is genuine is to purchase it from an authorised dealer. Not only are you assured of certified customer service and support, but by purchasing from an authorised dealer your microphone is eligible for the RØDE Microphones' free extended warranty.

The microphone pictured has been discovered on online auction sites advertised as a RØDE 'Pex 35'.

Part of the RØDE logo appears to be screened on the top of the microphone, and the product description often appears to be extracted from genuine RØDE products

What to do if you suspect a counterfeit?

If you suspect you have been offered, or even sold a counterfeit RØDE product please let us know. While we cannot take any responsibility for counterfeit products we do actively pursue infringements of our international IP and trademarks.

The following is a list of RØDE microphones that have been reported as stolen. Please take care when purchasing any pre-owned RØDE product and always ask for serial numbers and proof of purchase.

Owners of RØDE products are urged to register them so that important information such as serial numbers and proof of purchase are available for insurance and related purposes.
