| Farewell to a Legend - Les Paul |
August 13, 2009 saw the passing of one of the music industry's most innovative and respected icons.
Les Paul was an inspiration to many. It goes without saying that RØDE Microphones wouldn’t exist as it does today without Les’ dedication to music and the art of recording.
I was fortunate to meet and speak with Les on a few occasions, the last being in 2006 at the New York AES show. At that time I presented Les with a custom engraved RØDE Classic II Microphone as a token of my personal respect.
Les invited me along to his show that evening at the Iridium Jazz Club. We ended up having a candid chat back stage before the show, that I am very honoured to be able to share with you for the first time.
I hope you enjoy watching what was a very special moment for me.
